Environmental Management System Developments.
An EMS is a management tool that allows businesses to monitor and control their use of resources and the impact of their products and services on the environment. Many companies find that an effective EMS improves efficiency and can reduce the costs of waste, raw materials, process energy and heating. ISO 14001 is the international standard for the establishment and operation of an EMS and many larger companies are now insisting that their entire supply chain is accredited to this standard. Linden was part of the European Union pilot scheme for the testing of EMAS (Eco-Management and Audit Scheme) which is the voluntary scheme showing ongoing commitment beyond that of ISO 14001.
